VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – All that rain seems to have put a damper on tricksters. Captain Gabe Roder with the Vancouver Fire Department says they were called to a few incidents, but it’s been a fairly safe night for the most part.
There were a couple of porta-potties and a garbage can set on fire.
“We’ve been patrolling the streets this evening and what we did notice was that the firework play is way down. We also noticed there were a lot less trick-or-treaters out there. The rain has had a big impact on everything.”
A replica Lamborghini Diablo housed in a garage on William Street near Victoria Drive suffered some damage after a fire broke out. Roder believes it was arson.
“The fire investigator has wrapped up his investigation on that call and has determined it was a deliberately set fire.”
Damage to the garage is estimated at $10,000. The replica car is worth around $25,000.
