Man plows into vehicle stopped at roadblock

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – A man in Abbotsford has been arrested after crashing into a car at a roadblock last night.

A car with four women inside was being checked out by police at Riverside and King Roads and that’s when the other vehicle crashed into them — pushing the car 40 feet ahead — forcing officers to jump out of the way.

“We were standing out in the roadway waiting to receive vehicles, when this vehicle came over at about a hundred kilometres (an hour) towards us and without braking, plowed into the Volvo that was stopped.”

Acting Sergeant Lisa Shea says it’s amazing no one was hurt.

The man was picked up on suspicion of impaired driving.

Once again officers are reminding you the annual CounterAttack program is underway and last weekend alone the number of people caught was higher than last year.
