British Columbians feeling financially optimistic

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Christmas bills haven’t come in yet, but if you’re like most Canadians, you know you spent too much.

Despite that and stern warnings from the Bank of Canada to get our spending in check, a report from the CIBC is suggesting we think we’ll do OK next year.

Seventy per cent of Canadians are confident they’ll meet their financial goals in 2013. Here in BC, 65 per cent of us are feeling optimistic about our finances for next year, that’s up 10 points from they way we were feeling ahead of 2012.

When it comes to future financial goals, we’re also pretty confident, although the Canadian average is at 74 per cent, British Columbians are just two points back.

Three-quarters of Canadians feel good about getting their money in order ahead of retirement.
