The Canucks open the 2013 season next Saturday

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Canucks open the 2013 NHL season with a double header next weekend at Rogers Arena  versus the Ducks and Oilers. Vancouver’s training camp will be open to the public starting Sunday at 3 P.M.

Vancouver will play all of its 48 games against Western Conference opponents.

The Canucks have a pair of four-game home stands in mid-February and in the middle of March.

Their longest road trip takes them to Calgary, Denver, Nashville, St. Louis and Dallas in mid-April.

Alain Vigneault’s squad has to play on back to back nights on seven occasions.

In the Northwest Division, Vancouver will face Edmonton and Calgary five times. The Flames are here for a trio of games, while Vancouver heads to Northern Alberta three times, including the final game of the regular season on April 27. There will be four games apiece against the Avalanche and Minnesota.

The Stanley Cup champion LA Kings will be in town for the only time in the regular season on March 2.

The club plays 10 Saturday games which includes a noon start in Denver on April 13 and a 1 P.M. puck drop in LA on March 23.

The team will have a couple of three and a half hour training sessions beginning at 9 A.M. on Monday and Tuesday. Fans are encouraged to arrive prior to the workouts and enter through Gate “3” at Rogers Arena. A one-hour practice is scheduled for next Friday at 11 A.M.

Vancouver will have a couple of scrimmages on Wednesday and Thursday evening, which will require tickets to attend.
