ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – Police in Abbotsford made the biggest cocaine seizure in the city’s history this past weekend.

Constable Ian MacDonald tells us it happened Saturday morning, when officers noticed a man carrying two big duffel bags in a parking lot on Clearbrook Road.

“They engaged the 24-year-old in a conversation. He didn’t give very informed or appropriate answers as an explanation as to what he was doing or why his duffel bags has padlocks on them.”

“We searched the bags and that search proved fruitful in that there were 60 packaged bricks… what is suspected to be kilogram-sized bricks of cocaine,” adds MacDonald.

The drugs are worth about $1 million on the street.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested for possession for the purposes of trafficking.
