Captain Ladd leads the Jets over Devils

WINNIPEG, MB (NEWS1130) – Andrew Ladd had two goals and an assist to lead the Jets over New Jersey 3-1. The Maple Ridge native’s team leading 12th goal of the year was the game winner in the third period.

Ladd opened the scoring just eight seconds into the contest, which tied a franchise record.

The game winner came four-on-four, a dozen minutes into the third period on former Manitoba Moose goalkeeper Johan Hedberg.

Winnipeg’s captain capped the evening with an assist on Blake Wheeler’s empty net goal with 36 seconds remaining.

Ladd has now overtaken Vancouver native Evander Kane by two points for the Jets scoring lead. Ladd now has 20 points.

Winnipeg is eighth in the Eastern Conference, with a 10-9-1 record which gives them 21 points.
