ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – One man is in hospital after a shooting last night in Abbotsford.

The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. at Gladwin and Downes Road.

Witnesses say shots were fired from one car into another as both were heading east on Downes.

Abbotsford Police Sergeant Casey Vinet says shortly after that one man showed up at the hospital.

“The motive for the shooting is unknown, but it’s not believed to be random. The 20-year-old victim, who is known to us, remains in hospital. His condition is not believed to be life threatening at this point.”

Vinet says officers are at two different scenes. “That’s still being sorted out, those are details we’re not quite clear on yet, but have identified two areas where we believe shots were fired and we believed both scenes are connected to the same incident.”

They’re also looking at whether the shooting is gang-related.

No arrests have been made.
