HOPE (NEWS1130) – Manning Park resort near Hope will live for another ski season.

The site was ordered up for sale after losing more than $4 million.

New owner Kevin Demers with Sunshine Valley RV Resorts and Cabins hopes to have the resort up and running in time for camping season. “It will be a few weeks, if not a month, before everything up there is fully operational and we acquire the staff we need.”

He says they are looking at hiring around 50 people, along with a dozen former workers. “The employees, of course, we all terminated when the resort closed on the first of April. We’ve been in touch with at least a dozen of them that we feel we can get back.”

As for any changes, Demers says it will all start with better customer service.

The sale price has not been disclosed.
