BC election campaigns swinging through the Interior

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Both the Liberal and NDP leaders continue their swings through the Interior today, with Liberal Leader Christy Clark focusing on the south Okanagan, while NDP Leader Adrian Dix is in the Cariboo.

The third week of the campaign is highlighting the slugfest between leadership styles — Clark accusing Dix and the New Democrats of saying “no” to all economic development, while Dix was saying yes to a gathering of BC’s mayors in Prince George.

Dix told the BC Mayors’ Caucus he has been accused of long winded answers in the past, so he kept it brief, saying “yes and yes” when asked if he would establish a separate ministry for local governments and an annual roundtable for municipal concerns.

Meanwhile, Clark delivered a feisty speech to a Kootenay audience, telling them the only time New Democrats says “yes” is when they are approving tax increases.

Clark pledged if a Liberal government is returned on May 14th, she will work as hard as possible to protect taxpayer’s cash.

Elsewhere, Conservative Leader John Cummins continues his Interior swing today after attending a fundraising dinner in Kamloops last night, while Green party leader Jane Sterk campaigns in her Victoria-Beacon Hill riding.
