Canada ranks 22nd on list of best places to have a baby

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – We’re not the best, but we are far from the worst.

A new report from Save The Children looks at the best and worst places to bring a child into the world.

Of the 176 countries in the rankings, the worst is the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Women there have a one in 30 chance of dying.

Finland is the best place to have a baby, according to the rankings, which are now in their 14th year.

Canada ranks 22nd on the list, while the US comes in 30th.

The rankings don’t only look at the mortality rate, but also other difficulties mothers face.
