VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Grouse Grind opens this weekend!
If you’re heading up, Bill Morrell with Metro Vancouver says you have to remember weather conditions can change from the bottom of the mountain to the top.
“So you may start off in sunshine and warm weather, but by the time you get to the top it could be cold, rainy, and slippery. We encourage people to be prepared, to ensure they have proper hiking gear, and a cell phone,” he says.
“We encourage people to be aware of their own abilities before they go on the grind. It’s a very steep trail, it’s not a stroll in the park and people need to know that,” he adds.
He wants people to use common sense and not put themselves at risk.
