VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – For all you couples waiting to tie the knot, consider the cost of your wedding before walking down the aisle.

New numbers show some people are okay with going into debt for love.

About 40 per cent of Canadians are willing to shell out the big bucks and go in the red for their big day and honeymoon, that’s according to TD.

The bank’s Diane Ormiston says there’s an easy solution to start your lives together on the right foot, set a realistic wedding budget.
“Comparison shop, shop online, you may want to engage some of your family and friends to help you prioritize. They may be a bit more realistic or tell you that something is not important as you might think it is.”

Experts say the average wedding and honeymoon costs more than $32,000.
