WEST VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – West Vancouver Police say another crash involving long boarding has seriously hurt two young men.
Constable Jeff Palmer says they were travelling downhill on Cambridge Street in the British Properties around 3 p.m today when they swerved to avoid an oncoming car.
“They were taken to hospital described as being in serious condition. One of the parties suffered a visible head injury at scene and is being treated for that.”
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating.
Late last month, a longboarding high school student was seriously hurt when he was hit by a car driven by one of his peers.
Palmer says while they’re totally different cases, “What the common factor is, that the risks of a collision are very significant for a longboarder in any collision with a motor vehicle.”
The 21 and 23 year-old men are residents of West Vancouver.
