VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Teens and laundry: Apparently, the two don’t mix!

A Léger Marketing survey that looks at household chores finds 58 per cent of moms and dads in BC call their kids “lazy” when the subject of taking care of washing their own clothes comes up.

The Canadian average is more like 27 per cent.

Yes, there is some of the “I walked to school barefoot, in three feet of snow both ways” here; 44 per cent of BC parents claim they knew how to get their clothes clean by the time they hit high school but only 34 per cent of their kids can get the job done. That’s the lowest rate in the country.

Parents in BC think kids should be doing their own laundry by the time they turn 13.
