Canadians open series versus AquaSox

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canadians will celebrate our country’s 146th birthday by hosting the Everett AquaSox at a sold out Nat Bailey Stadium. Following the game, fans will be treated to a display of fireworks.

The teams will be opening a three-game series, which will end a six-game homestand for the Canadians.

The AquaSox (14-3) had a seven-game winning streak come to an end on Sunday, as they fell 10-9 to the Spokane Indians. Everett sits comfortably in first place in the North Division, four games up on second-place Vancouver (10-7).

The Canadians beat Tri-City 7-3 on Sunday to take two of three from the Dust Devils.

This will be the first meeting of the season between the teams. The Canadians swept the AquaSox in last year’s West Division finals, on their way to a second straight Northwest League championship.

Jeremy Gabryszwski (1-0) is scheduled to start on the mound for Vancouver. Everett will counter with Rigoberto Garcia (2-0).

The Canadians will be sporting a limited edition hat for Canada Day. It’s a red hat with a white maple leaf logo.

First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
