VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – They’re getting ready for a rumble, all right.
A restaurant rumble!
The final fight cards for this year’s “Aprons for Gloves” benefit will be settled this evening.
A total of 42 fighters will make the cut at the Cobalt for the main event July 24th at Woodwards.
Simon Kaulback manages the BONETA Restaurant in Gastown and hopes to defend his light heavyweight title from last year. “I most certainly am. This is not something that I wanted to get involved with for just one year, for more than, you know, the title reason. It’s become such a great event.”
“There’s been a lot of people that have shown some amazing progress and people that, you know, didn’t know how to throw a jab that are now throwing amazing combinations,” adds Kaulback.
“Restaurant Rumble” proceeds to go help the East Side Boxing Gym and its programs for at-risk youth.
