CBSA makes biggest drug bust since 2011

SURREY (NEWS1130) – The CBSA says it’s made it’s largest drug bust in BC in the last two years.

It happened June 26th at the Pacific Highway crossing; the border agency says it found 62 kg of cocaine on the back of a truck bringing food products in from California.

“The truck was off-loaded and 56 bricks of suspected cocaine were then discovered in five cardboard boxes sitting on two pallets. And in this case, there was no additional concealment used,” describes Perry Boldt with the CBSA.

The driver and the drugs have been turned over to the RCMP; charges are being considered.

This is the biggest CBSA drug bust since July, 2011, when officers seized 115 kg of cocaine.
