QUEENS, NY (NEWS1130) – The MLB All-Star break is here and the 2013 Home Run Derby is ready to go tonight at Citi Field – home of the New York Mets of the National League.

The following sluggers will be participating:

National League
David Wright – Mets
Pedro Alvarez – Pirates
Michael Cuddyer – Rockies
Bryce Harper – Nationals

American League
Robinson Canó – Yankees
Prince Fielder – Tigers
Chris Davis – Orioles
Yoenis Céspedes – Athletics

This year marks the fifth Derby for Prince Fielder. He has won it twice, tying him with Ken Griffey Jr. for the most Home Run Derby wins of all-time and he is looking to defend his title.

It is also the third straight year Robinson Canó is taking part.. In 2011, he won the competition with his father pitching to him. The following year, Canó was shut out. He didn’t come close to hitting one out.

Chris Davis will be a threat to both, after tying an American League record on Sunday with his 37th homer before the break.
