LAC-MEGANTIC, QUEBEC (NEWS1130) – Quebec provincial police have recovered two more bodies from the rubble in Lac-Megantic.

That brings the total number of bodies recovered to 37; but another 13 people are believed to be dead.

Inspector Michel Forget says police and firefighters can only work in 15-minute shifts because temperatures have soared to 52 degrees Celsius.

He adds that so far, police officers and firefighters working at the scene are only feeling the physical strain of their task, not the emotional burden.

Meanwhile, there will be a memorial mass in Lac-Megantic for the victims disaster on July 27th.

Father Steve Lemay stresses that it will not be a group funeral; he says it will be a chance for the community — and for Quebecers as a whole — to grieve together.
