Il Villaggio gorgonzola cheese recall expanded due to listeria concerns

By

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded its recall of Il Villaggio brand Gorgonzola Dolce cheese because of possible listeria contamination.

Ten more lots of the product — sold in a 150-gram package — have been added to the recall. Click here for the lot numbers and best before dates.

The product was imported by Agropur of Quebec, and distributed in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and Manitoba, and possibly sold across Canada.

No illnesses have been reported, the CFIA said.

Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria can cause fever, headache, neck stiffness and nausea.
