Council approves bike share program

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver should have a bike share program up and running by next spring.

City Council has voted in favour of investing $6-million to get the plan off the ground and another half-a-million each year for maintenance.

Critics of the plan worry the city’s infrastructure isn’t safe enough for casual users.

The city also has to find a way to address a provincial government law that makes riding without a helmet illegal.
