Fire crews get a handle on Logan Lake wildfire

LOGAN LAKE (NEWS1130) – A wildfire burning near Logan Lake just south of Kamloops is now 100 per cent contained.

Fire Information Officer Kayla Pepper says it was likely caused by people.  “We are moving into a time of year where we’re seeing high fire danger ratings throughout most of southern BC, even with pockets of extreme, so it’s extra important that maybe as we start moving forward and seeing more lightning caused fires that we don’t have additional person-caused fires to also respond to.”

Forty crew members are still on the ground fighting the 15-hectare blaze.

The fire grew substantially within hours yesterday. No homes were ever at risk and no one was hurt.
