Many adults guilty of bad mobile manners: survey

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Canadians are known around the world for their politeness, but we may have a little work to do when it comes to our mobile manners.

Many kids are heading back to class with mobile phones, but parents might be setting a bad example.

A survey from Leger for PC Mobile has found moms and dads tend to take their kids’ phones away as a form of punishment, but they tend to exhibit some bad cell phone behaviour themselves.

About seven in 10 adults admit to breaking at least one social rule when it comes to mobile courtesy.

More than one third of adults check emails or text in front of others at social functions. About ten per cent leave ringers on in meetings or at the movies, and more than 40 per cent really don’t want to spend a minute a way from our phones and bring it along to the bathroom.
