LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – Local sales of commercial real estate were sharply lower in the second quarter, according to an industry group.

There were 398 sales in the Lower Mainland from April to June, down 26 per cent from a year earlier. The value of those sales was a billion dollars, down 42 per cent from a year earlier to the lowest in four years.

The only category that didn’t show a sharp decline was multi-family properties, with sales that were little changed.

The information comes from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver’s Commercial Edge system.
