Rogers starting to restore wireless service

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Some Rogers customers are now able to make and receive calls on their cell phones.

The company says it is slowly starting to fix the outage that affected a number of customers across Canada, beginning around 3 p.m. It can’t give an estimated time of full restoration.

The outage also affected some SMS services.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Kett says customers with wireless carrier Fido, Rogers’ lower-priced label, were also affected by the service outage.

Rogers has about 10 million wireless customers across Canada. It is the parent company of News1130.
