VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – How loyal are you to your company?
Half of employees would get up and go if the right opportunity presented itself, despite being perfectly happy where they are. That’s according to an employee satisfaction survey from Insights West.
Senior Vice-President Catherine Dawson says they looked at motivating factors for workers.
“We’re not seeing that [the top things] are wages or salary. There’s a lot of things that contribute to job satisfaction… that are going to make employees feel better about where they are — even things like company procedures, processes, and staff morale.”
“When we take a look at what people are maybe less satisfied with, [we find] opportunity for advancement, stress levels, dissatisfaction with company procedures and practices that impact them, as well as communication from senior management.”
She adds it never hurts to give credit where credit is due.
“One really fundamental thing [is] feeling that they’re recognized for doing a good job, something that they say that quite often a good employer does not do.”
