VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Move over Ashton Kutcher and Ricky Gervais!
Vancouver’s police chief is on Twitter and he’s cracking jokes, talking about superheroes and posting pictures of people’s Halloween costumes.
That’s not why he set up an account, though.
“Our social media officer has been tweeting for some time and I thought I would tweet myself,” Jim Chu tells News1130.
“Many people are interested in some of the more routine things that happen here. Maybe they’re things that don’t necessarily make the news. I have certain thoughts, and also I use it as a campaign to explain how the police department works and issues police officers face every day.”
Chu even worked a patrol shift last month and live tweeted his experiences.
