VPD officers seize millions of dollars worth of cocaine

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Police seized more than $3-million worth of cocaine and several hundred dollars in cash over the weekend from an apartment near Science World.

The raid happened on Saturday on Quebec Street near National Avenue.

Superintendent Mike Porteus believes the dealers who operated out of the suite were supplying people on the Downtown Eastside. He says this is a substantial seizure.

“Extremely large. I’m aware of some other seizures, when we’ve assisted the CBSA or something like that — where we’ve made bigger seizures. But in my almost 30 years of policing, I don’t recall a bigger seizure than this one.”

Two men in their thirties were arrested, but no charges have been laid.
