RCMP looking for more victims after man drugged, robbed

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Surrey RCMP are asking for more victims to come forward now that a Vancouver man has been charged with drugging and robbing a man he met online.

The Surrey victim tested positive for the common date rape drug GHB.

Corporal Bert Parquet with Surrey RCMP doesn’t think this is the first time this has happened.

“No injuries, no sexual assault of any kind. The target was not sexual but property related. Sometimes for the victim, knowing that you are not the only victim that fell to this individual, might be enough to prompt them to contact our investigators.”

He calls it a crime of opportunity.

“Ultimately this is a crime of opportunity, but at this point in time we are looking at the one case. Based on the circumstances and the fact that this specific suspect had potentially victimized others based on his MO, then we are looking for any potential witness to contact us as soon as possible.”

Brent Roshinsky, 25, appeared in court in Surrey this morning.
