VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Better Business Bureau wants to help you avoid breaking the bank over the holidays.
It’s launching a holiday planning calculator, which creates a custom made budget.
Camie Laird with the BBB says the tool makes you consider all the costs.
“A lot of people, when they think about the holidays, they think about their gift giving budget and there are other things that fall in, whether you have to travel to go see your family, dinners out, other kind of celebratory things.”
Along with creating a budget, Laird recommends you use reward points and do your research before buying big ticket items.
“It takes into consideration what your annual income is, sets a reasonable budge, and then you can kind of toggle and say ‘oh, I want to spend more on gifts and less on food and those kinds of things.”
