VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If you could change someone’s day with one small act of kindness, would you?
A campaign called 30 Days of Giving Bootcamp is starting this Monday in Vancouver.
Reanne Derkson with Change Heroes explains every morning you’ll get an email with your secret challenge for the day. “Some days it’s as easy giving a high-five to a total stranger, phoning a long lost friend, or baking cookies and taking them into the office. They’re just simple, small tasks people can do everyday.”
“Everyday they’ll have that feeling that they just did something nice for someone else. Science proves that random acts of kindness can actually make you happier. It’s being part of something, being part of a community, having goals,” she adds.
She says this kind of thing has proved very popular in other parts of the world but it’s the first time it has come to Vancouver. She says so far over 1,500 people have signed up via Facebook.
