Vancouver pub doesn’t plan on opening doors to minors

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A pub on Davie Street has no immediate plans to allow minors during certain hours of operation.

The Fountainhead Pub says that particular change to BC’s liquor laws doesn’t fit their demographic.

Managing partner Michel Duprat says for the most part customers haven’t expressed an interest in bringing minors with them to the pub.

He says as of right now, it doesn’t seem to correspond with their business model. “We just cater to the West End demographic which is typically 30-plus men and women. Periodically we might see a family try to enter our establishment, but for the most part it’s residents of Davie St.”

Duprat says if there’s an overwhelming demand being made by their customers to bring minors to the pub, they’ll reconsider.

Premier Christy Clark announced the government is supporting a recommendation that would allow minors in pubs and legions as a way of making them more family-friendly.
