Winter burnout setting in for people in Ontario

OTTAWA (NEWS1130) – Words like ‘snow,’ ‘whiteout,’ ‘windchill’ and ‘frostbite’ are becoming common place and people are starting to get tired of it all.

This winter has been plagued with bone-chilling cold temperatures, treacherous conditions on the roads and sidewalks, brutally slow traffic, and the dreaded salt-stained footwear.

It’s another day of bundling up as Environment Canada is calling for it to feel into the minus 30′s with the wind in the capital region.

Ottawa Public Health has upgraded from an advisory to a frostbite warning.

A frostbite warning is issued when a wind chill of minus 35 or colder is forecast for the region. People are advised to dress in layers and try to keep as much covered up as possible, as as exposed flesh can freeze in 10 minutes in frigid temperatures.

The cold winds are expected to stick around until Wednesday.
