Another group of former players files suit against NHL over concussions

TORONTO (NEWS1130) – The NHL is under fire again over concussions.

For the second time in just a few months, a handful of former NHLers has filed a lawsuit against the league for what it’s calling “devastating and long-term” health consequences.

They say the NHL didn’t warn players of the risks and consequences of head trauma.

Nine players are looking for damages. The group is headed up by former New York Ranger Dan LaCouture and Brad Maxwell, who spent part of the 1986 season in Vancouver.

There might be a few eyebrows raised over this suit, though.

It claims Gordie Howe died from effects brought on by head trauma, but the NHL legend is still very much alive.

The suit also outlines how Russell Crowe’s role in Gladiator relates to hockey and misspells Sidney Crosby’s name.

In addition, it — for some reason — points out that Jason wore a hockey mask in the Friday the 13th movies.
