KITIMAT (NEWS1130) – People living along our north coast are casting their ballots on the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline.
People living in Kitimat are heading to the polls.
It’s expected to be a record turnout.
It’s unclear what approval or rejection of the non-binding vote will mean.
Kitimat plays a central role in plans for the pipeline. It’s the end of the line from Alberta, but there’s also a proposal for a two-berth marine terminal and tank farm to store the crude before it’s shipped to Asia.
