Most of us wouldn’t move, even for a great new career opportunity

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If the right opportunity presented itself, would you be willing to move for a new job?

It turns out many of us wouldn’t leave our homes for any reason. More than half of Canadians say they would not move under any circumstances, including a great new job.

A survey from Ipsos Reid has found about a third of people could be persuaded to cross the country if they were provided with a lot of incentives.

Those incentives include a big raise, paid moving expenses, and  a guarantee that you could move back to your current role after two years with further relocation assistance.

Many people would also like to get a trip to the city they would have to move to, paid for by a potential employer.

Some other incentives that would make the decision easier include a car allowance, an extra week of vacation, and temporary housing for up to a month.
