Full regimental funeral to be held for three RCMP officers gunned down

MONCTON (NEWS1130) – A full regimental funeral will be held on Tuesday for the three RCMP officers who were gunned down in New Brunswick last Wednesday.

The funeral for Constables Dave Ross, Fabrice Georges Gevaudan and Douglas James Larche will be held in a Moncton arena.

Police say a parade of RCMP officers and staff from other law enforcement agencies will be held before the service.

A private interment will follow the funeral.

RCMP officers spent Saturday scouring a field and a wooded area in Moncton, close to where officers arrested a suspect charged in connection with the deaths of the three officers.

Two other officers were injured in the shooting rampage that forced police to lock down part of Moncton for about 30 hours.

The suspect, 24-year-old Justin Bourque, was arrested early Friday morning and faces charges of first degree murder and attempted murder.

He appeared in court yesterday to face the allegations and his case has been put over until next month.
