Targeted shooting in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS1130) – RCMP in Surrey are investigating a targeted shooting Wednesday afternoon.

Yellow tape was up for hours outside a business complex at 192A Street and 72A Avenue.

Sukvinder owns a store there as well as the plaza itself and described the scene. “We saw a person run towards the parking lot and go towards the pizza shop. He was bleeding from his hand. He was basically asking for help and then obviously one of the pizza guys called 911.”

His employees heard a number of loud bangs before the man stumbled in.

He says the man was alert when police found him.

RCMP say one vehicle was chasing another when shots were fired.

The injured man was taken to hospital and is expected to be okay.

A silver minivan was at the scene with a blown out tire.

Mounties say this was not random, but too early to say if this was gang or drug related.

No arrests have been made.
