A look at some Canada Day events across the Lower Mainland

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – How do you ring in a 147th birthday?

There is no shortage of activities for you and your family to go to celebrate Canada Day in the Lower Mainland on Tuesday.

Matthew Good will be taking the stage for celebrations in Cloverdale. Other activities in Surrey will include sports and fireworks.

At Canada Place in Vancouver, there will be a sports zone, lumberjack show, and citizenship ceremony for new Canadians. If you stick around downtown for the evening, you can catch the parade at 7 p.m. and take in the fireworks over Burrard Inlet at 10:30 p.m.

On Granville Island, there will be a lot of family-friendly entertainment, including live jazz music and even a disco party. There will also be bike decorating and yarn dyeing workshops, plus the water park will be open.

In North Vancouver, a craft market will be set up along the sea wall, along with many other family-friendly events.

Coquitlam is celebrating Canada Day with a load of food and entertainment at Town Centre Park, plus a fireworks display at Lafarge Lake.

Over in Langley, there will be rides, a car show, pony rides, fireworks, and more at Willoughby Community Park.
