Crews in the Okanagan working to contain new fire

PEACHLAND (NEWS1130) – A wildfire estimated at 25 hectares in size is currently burning between Peachland and West Kelowna, north of Highway 97C.
The Wildfire Management Branch is responding with airtankers, water bombers, three helicopters and 27 fire fighters. Another 20-person sustained action crew is also assigned to the incident.
Personnel from the Peachland and West Kelowna fire departments are also on site.
A Local State of Emergency has been declared to facilitate the evacuation of one home
“There are structures in the area, they’re not immediately threatened at this time. We have a redardant between the fire and the structures.”
