Petition launched to have BC education negotiations televised

KELOWNA (NEWS1130) – A mother in Kelowna has launched a petition to have negotiations in the teachers’ dispute televised.

Tera Pemberton says she decided to start the petition because she was getting frustrated.

“Not getting the answers or the resolution that everybody is hoping for and waiting for over these months. It just came to me to think out of the box a little more,” she explains.

She wants all negotiations broadcast live so people can see exactly what’s going on. “I think there would be enough people to watch it and identify where the shortfalls are and where they’re not picking up their slack, as far as getting things done in a timely manner.”

The petition will be up until the end of the week. It can be found here.

It already has over 1,500 signatures.
