VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – More deaths have been linked to faulty ignition switches in GM cars.
GM will offer compensation for 19 deaths associated with defective ignition switches.
That’s six more deaths than GM had previously said were caused by the problem part.
“We’re also including in our eligibility determination not only the driver.” says attorney Ken Feinberg.
Feinberg considered passengers, occupants of other impacted vehicles, and pedestrians. He also considered more evidence than GM’s engineers.
Compensation is determined, in large part, by a victim’s earning potential plus a million dollars for a family’s suffering.
