BURNABY (NEWS1130) – A man is dead after a shooting last night near Brentwood Mall in Burnaby.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Rosser Avenue near Lougheed Highway.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Aladdin Ramadan. Police say he does not have a criminal record, but police believe it was a targeted shooting.

No arrests have been made.

Three men were seen leaving the scene in a small compact car. The driver is described as Persian with short hair that’s shaved on the side with sideburns. He was wearing dark clothing. The other two men were also wearing dark clothing and had large builds.

All three men are believed to be over 6’0″.

The incident is certainly an unnerving one for neighbours.

Kyle says it’s pretty scary to know it happened so close to where he lives. He says he heard two or three shots around 10 o’clock last night. He lives in the apartment building next to where it happened.

Kyle says at first, he thought it might be construction; there’s a high-rise going up across the street. But he realized the noise was something else when he heard police and ambulances arriving.

Another man also says he heard three shots; he adds he saw two men in the area.
