Vancouver band being featured in Daniel Radcliffe movie

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If you plan on catching Daniel Radcliffe’s new movie Horns, be sure to keep an eye and ear out for a local band.

Vancouver’s The Brass Action will be featured in the film.

Lead singer Ryan Clare says the opportunity came their way thanks to the Internet and a stroke of good luck.

“We were actually contacted by one of the ladies who was in charge of seeking out bands for the soundtrack. I guess she Googled us, or was Googling brass bands in Vancouver, and came upon us.”

He says their song “Devil Down Below” will be featured in a bar scene.

“Dan Radcliffe walks into the bar to talk to another character and another character, Terry, is in our band in the movie. You can see us playing and I have a one-liner.”

Clare says their band is a perfect fit for a film like this. “The movie is called Horns and several of the characters in the movie play the trumpet. We’re called The Brass Action for a reason, we’re a very horn-oriented band. Our song that’s in it The Devil Down Below also follows the devil theme of the movie.”

The Brass Action has released its first LP since filming wrapped. Clare says the band is hoping to release its second LP in the Spring.

Horns hits theatres on Halloween.
