Former BC Premier Ujjal Dosanjh endorses Mayor Gregor Robertson

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Mayor Gregor Robertson is getting the support of former BC Premier Ujjal Dosanjh.

Dosanjh, who was also an MP for Vancouver South and a former federal health minister, says he worked closely with Robertson while in office on a number of issues, specifically on ending gun crime.

He says the city needs a mayor like Robertson. “Vancouver is a progressive city, a progressive city needs a progressive mayor and Gregor Robertson is that mayor. Based on his accomplishments and his achievements in the last few years and what he is going to do in the future.”

Dosanjh says all progress seen in Vancouver will come to a stop if the NPA is elected.

“This election is that important, it is that crucial. It is about, do we continue to make progress on some of the important issues such as transit, affordable housing, street homelessness. Or, do we go backwards and not even have it in the platform of others who want to be mayor.”

He adds mayoral candidate Kirk Lapointe walks away from hard questions and doesn’t appear accountable.
