NORTH SHORE (NEWS1130) – It was a close race in the City of North Vancouver, with incumbent Darrell Mussatto winning by 900 votes out of a total of 10,000.

Mussatto took 52 per cent of the vote. He had a serious challenge from Kerry Morris, who took 44 per cent of the votes.

The first thing Mussatto did was call his mother, before speaking with News1130.

“There were some very complex issues — issues regarding public transit — around affordable housing, and I think those resonated in the community and people want to continue on the path we’ve been leading,” he tells us.

Mussatto says he’s is proud to be granted another term. “I’m just happy to see that we’ve done well and we’re going to move forward a very positive, progressive agenda.”

In the District of North Vancouver, Richard Walton is back by acclamation and Michael Smith also won by acclamation in West Vancouver.
