RICHMOND/DELTA/WHITE ROCK (NEWS1130) – There are no big surprises in Richmond, Delta, and White Rock.

Malcolm Brodie is staying on as mayor for Richmond. He has been in the chair for 13 years and will be there for four more after defeating challenger Richard Lee and newcomer Clif Lifeng Wei.

Richard Lee lost to Brodie back in 2011 as an independent but ran again this time around with a new political slate Richmond Reform.

Veteran Mayor Brodie says he looks forward to working on improvements needed in his city.

“Community safety, making sure that we have a safe community, affordability in terms of our tax increases, affordable housing and the issues of transportation, dealing with congestion that’s taking place in our city centre and trying to refine from strategies which will alleviate.”

Over to White Rock, Wayne Baldwin has been re-elected as mayor, beating challenger David Bradshaw.

In Delta, Mayor Lois Jackson won by acclamation. It’ll be her sixth term in office.
