VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Another four years for Vancouver’s Mayor Gregor Robertson.
Hamish Telford, a political scientist with the University of Fraser Valley says the mayoral campaign in Vancouver was gruelling and likely put a real scare into Robertson.
“We saw some acknowledgment from the mayor last week with his apology that perhaps he hasn’t governed all that well in some respects so I’ll be interested if style changes in that case,” he explains.
“Will he manage to win voters back? I don’t think it is necessarily a case of consultation but he seemed at times perhaps in the minds of some voters a bit imperious or sanctimonious, so it will be interesting to see if a change in tone and style emerges.”
A little more than ten thousand votes separated Robertson and the NPA’s Kirk Lapointe.
