Salvation Army needs your help to reach its holiday fundraising goal

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – The Salvation Army is hoping to raise $4 million across the province this holiday season.

But the organization needs your help to make that happen.

“All of the donations that are made in your community stay exactly there,” says Lauren Chan with the Salvation Army, who says the Kettle Campaign is now well underway, but they are still looking for volunteers.

“We definitely need the support of more volunteers,” she tells us. “We’re looking for people to help pack toys at our family services or ring bells on our kettles. It’s a really great experience,”

“We’re finding that groups that are coming are anywhere from youth groups to sports teams to corporate groups who are challenging their staff to get involved,” she adds.

The money is used for a variety of different things throughout the year, including food programs and shelters.
