Eddie Lack starts for the Canucks against Winnipeg tonight

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Canucks six-game homestand continues this evening against the Winnipeg Jets.

Vancouver is trying to bounce back from a weekend loss to Minnesota. The team is turning to Eddie Lack to get them back in to the win column. Lack hasn’t started a game in three weeks, but he is confident he can shake off the rust.

“Obviously when it goes three weeks in between starts you get to think a little bit. To be honest, right now I am just happy to get back into the groove of things right now.”

The Jets are currently in the playoff picture, but they are stuck in a four-game losing streak that included a loss to the Calgary Flames yesterday.

Former Vancouver Giants forward Evander Kane says his team needs to bump the slump tonight. “It is definitely more exciting to be in a playoff position at this time of the year and continue to battle to stay in that position. It is a lot more fun when you are winning hockey games. We have dropped the last four games and it’s important for us to make sure we don’t make it five.”

Zack Kassian will be a healthy scratch for the second game in a row. Frank Corrado won’t play because he is under the weather. Ryan Stanton takes his spot on the blueline.

It is the first meeting of the year between the two teams.

The puck drops at 7 p.m. You can watch it on Sportsnet Pacific. Listen for game updates every 10 minutes on the fives.
